CANADA BUBBLE TEA AWARDS 2027
The Canada Bubble Tea Awards is a national recognition program celebrating excellence and innovation in Canada’s growing bubble tea industry. Connected to the Canada Bubble Tea Festival, the awards bring together bubble tea brands from across the country to compete in a professional blind-tasting competition.
The program highlights outstanding drinks, recognizes top brands, and aims to establish a trusted benchmark for bubble tea quality in Canada. The inaugural awards are planned for January 2027, marking the beginning of a new annual platform celebrating the best of bubble tea.

Judging Framework
Blind Tasting Evaluation
All entries are evaluated through a blind tasting process. Drinks are served to judges without brand identification to ensure fairness and eliminate brand bias.
Each drink is assigned a randomized code before evaluation. Judges will not know the brand, store location, or company behind the drink during the tasting process.
Evaluation Criteria
Each drink is evaluated using the following scoring framework:
Tea Quality (25 Points)
Judges evaluate the aroma, depth, and clarity of the tea base. A high score reflects well-brewed tea with strong character that complements the drink.
Flavour Balance (25 Points)
This criterion measures how well the ingredients work together. Judges look for harmony between tea, milk, sweetness, and additional ingredients.
Texture & Toppings (20 Points)
Bubble tea is known for its texture. Judges evaluate the consistency and quality of pearls or toppings, as well as how well they integrate with the drink.
Creativity & Concept (15 Points)
This category rewards originality, innovation, and distinctive flavor combinations while maintaining drinkability.
Overall Experience (15 Points)
Judges provide an overall score based on the complete drinking experience, including aftertaste and overall enjoyment.

The Canada Bubble Tea Awards is committed to maintaining a fair, credible, and transparent evaluation process. Clear guidelines are established to ensure that every participating brand is judged under the same conditions.
Blind Tasting Integrity All drinks are evaluated through a blind tasting process. Brand names, logos, and store identities are removed before judging to eliminate bias and ensure that every drink is assessed purely on its quality. Fair Participation Rules Each participating brand may submit a limited number of entries to ensure a balanced and competitive field. All entries must meet the official submission guidelines and be prepared according to the competition standards. Independent Judging Judges are selected from a diverse panel including beverage professionals, industry representatives, media, and experienced consumers. Judges must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and will not evaluate entries from brands with which they have a direct affiliation. Transparent Evaluation Process All drinks are evaluated using a standardized scoring framework. Final scores are compiled and verified to ensure consistency and fairness across all categories. Through these measures, the Canada Bubble Tea Awards aims to build a trusted platform that recognizes excellence and promotes integrity within Canada’s bubble tea industry.

Entry Fee
Brands may enter the competition with one or two drink submissions.
Single Entry
$350 – includes one drink submission
Brand Entry Package
$500 – includes up to two drink submissions
Each submitted drink will be evaluated independently through the official blind tasting process and automatically considered for all relevant award categories.

Eligibility
• Participation is open to bubble tea brands operating in Metro Vancouver Canada.
• Each brand may submit a maximum of two drinks.
• Submitted drinks may be classic menu items or signature creations currently offered by the brand.

How to Enter
1. Submit Registration
Complete the official online entry form and provide details for each drink submission.
2. Entry Confirmation
Once the registration form and payment are received, participating brands will receive confirmation along with detailed competition guidelines.
3. Drink Submission
Brands will prepare and submit their drinks according to the official submission instructions provided by the organizers.
4. Blind Tasting Evaluation
All drinks will be evaluated through a structured blind tasting process by the judging panel using the official scoring framework.
